It’s your griddle’s starting point for peak performance. Griddle Seasoning Wax from Weber helps create a protective coating for your grilling surface that allows food to lift easily. Its highgrade, high smoke point formula generates a durable layer of seasoning that will help your griddle cook its best and stay that way for many meals to come.
- Coating created to help protect your griddle
- Develops a layer of seasoning so food lifts easily
- Made of grapeseed oil, canola oil and beeswax (from U.S. bee farms)
- Antibacterial beeswax bonds oils for a solid layer of seasoning, smoother application and no sticky residue
How To Use:
Before you season:
- If you just bought your griddle, it will be coated with a food-grade oil for protection. This oil is not for seasoning.
- Hand wash your griddle using warm, soapy water and scrub vigorously with a nylon brush or soft sponge just before the seasoning process.
- Rinse and thoroughly dry.
- This will be the ONLY TIME you use soap and water on your griddle.
Griddle Seasoning Wax Instructions
- Apply 1 teaspoon of Weber Griddle Seasoning Wax with a lint-free cotton cloth over the entire surface of the griddle – front to back, side to side, including the interior and exterior of any side walls.
- Use a separate cloth to wipe off any excess seasoning wax so that the surface is evenly coated.
- Turn the burners to high heat. The surface will begin to smoke and darken (approx. 10 mins).
- If any oil begins to bead on the surface, with grill mitts on, hold a paper towel with tongs to wipe the excess oil from the griddle.
- When the surface stops smoking (approx. 20–30 additional mins) turn off the heat to the griddle. Allow it to cool at least 30 mins.
The griddle now has 1 coat of seasoning. Repeat steps 1–5, at least 2 more times to build your seasoning.
